The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in which deputies responded to around 4:30 Monday morning.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall said nothing was taken and detectives believe the person responsible was scared off by the alarm system at Roanoke Nursery, which is located off Highway 158 just outside Roanoke Rapids.

Hall said in a statement deputies discovered someone broke into a building on the property and the video system allowed investigators to capture an image of the suspect, described as a light-skinned male driving a dark-colored pickup, possibly an F-150.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the suspect  is encouraged to call Detective R.M. Brown at  252-583-8201; Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444; or by using the P3 Tips app.
