Shermanda Louise Taylor, 31, was jailed without opportunity for bond and has a first court appearance on October 21.

A 27-year-old woman, Latrice Avent, was pronounced deceased at the scene and a male victim Chief Deputy Scott Hall this morning described as a family member of the victim was shot multiple times and is in critical condition.

Hall said in a statement deputies responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Highway 301 in the Halifax area shortly before 11:30 p.m. after receiving a report two people had been shot.

Deputies located Avent and the family member.

Taylor was taken into custody at her residence without trouble.

Hall said investigators determined the shooting spawned from a domestic relationship between Taylor and Avent.
