A Roanoke Rapids woman was arrested and charged Tuesday on counts related to financial card fraud by reportedly using the debit card of a victim with whom she was familiar.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement a report was received on September 18 the card was used at an ATM.
Detective R.B. Biggerstaff identified Samantha Thompson, 28, as the alleged suspect.
She withdrew an undisclosed amount of money from the machine.
Biggerstaff charged her with financial card fraud and obtaining property by false pretense.
She was later released on $3,000 bond and has an October 21 court date.
