A woman is recovering from a physical assault which required medical attention, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
The assault occurred Wednesday in the Saponi Drive area of Hollister. Chief Deputy Scott Hall said the victim and the man charged — Keith McCoy Richardson, 39 — were acquainted.
In a statement Hall said deputies were dispatched to Hollister on a domestic disturbance call.
Deputies located the 29-year-old victim in a wooded area “and quickly developed a suspect in the assault.”
Detective Travis Clark led the investigation and charged Richardson, of Hollister, with assault on a female.
Richardson received a $10,000 bond and September 16 court date.
