As of midnight Monday, the Halifax County Health Department is aware of 1,309 confirmed COVID-19 tests performed on residents.

The following is a breakdown of those results:

219 positive cases; one related death; and 173 recoveries.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the number of recoveries from the positive cases.

There are five tests pending and 1,085 negative results.

In his update this afternoon, Health Director Bruce Robistow said the “report shows a slight spike in positive cases. However, the overall trend line does continue downward. Although the trend line continues to show a downward trend it also shows that COVID-19 is still here and continues to fluctuate daily. Therefore, we all need to continue to practice the three W’s and also continue to follow the governor’s executive orders.”
