The Weldon Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chris Davis:
On March 28, shortly after 4 p.m., Officer H. Cross was conducting a security check of a business in the 400 block of Washington Avenue when she discovered someone inside.
Cross identified the woman as Kashelia Lorraine Smith, 48, who has no fixed address.
Cross was aware Smith had trespassed on the property previously. Cross arrested Smith on March 10 for second-degree trespassing.
Smith was again placed under arrest for the same charge on March 28.
She was taken before a Halifax County magistrate where she received a written promise to appear in court May 6.
Officer S. McKimmey assisted.
On Thursday shortly after 12:45 p.m., McKimmey responded to the 1600 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway about a man passed out in a vehicle with the windshield busted.
McKimmey discovered there had been a domestic assault.
The man was identified as Tony Lee Pruden, 52, of Gaston.
After further investigation, Pruden was placed under arrest for assault on a female.
Pruden was taken before a Halifax County magistrate where he received a 48-hour hold with a June 10 court date.
Davis assisted.
