The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Chief Deputy Scott Hall:

Friday, deputies responded to a residence in the Roanoke Rapids area for a report of a burglary and kidnapping of a 1-year-old child. 

Deputy Alex Holt and Lieutenant Steven Casey began investigating and learned Daniel Bradley, 33, of Roanoke Rapids, reportedly forced his way into the home and took the child from the house. He fled the area in a vehicle.

Casey, Holt and Roanoke Rapids police officers C. Batchelor and C. Hagbourne located Bradley and the child inside a Cedar Street home. 

Bradley was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, child abduction and violation of a domestic violence protective order and placed in the Halifax County Detention Center with a May 13 court date pending.

The child was returned to its mother.
