The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Selective Traffic Enforcement Team reported the following, according to Captain A.M. Harris:
Wednesday shortly before 11 p.m., Lieutenant C. Emerson Carroll stopped a vehicle on Highway 903 at Dog Pound Road for suspicious activity.
A search was conducted and a .40-caliber pistol and marijuana was seized.

Carroll arrested and charged Demarcus Matthew Clark, 21, of Scotland Neck with felony carrying a concealed gun, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
Because he had previously been convicted of carrying a concealed weapon, Clark received the felony count following his arrest.
He received a $2,000 bond with a May 20 court date.
