Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said this afternoon the search warrant for the residence of Robert John Zsebehazy, 37, of Williams Street, has been sealed.

Hall said there were “numerous items collected as a result of the search warrant that detectives continue to investigate.”

Hall declined comment on whether the material seized was downloaded, purchased or was of someone the man was acquainted with. He also declined comment on whether the material was in the form of photographs, videos or magazines.

In a statement today, Hall said around 2 p.m. members of the criminal investigations and patrol divisions served the warrant in the 600 block of Williams Street.

Investigation by Detective S.A. Bryant determined Zsebehazy was reputedly in possession of child pornography.

Zsebehazy received a $25,000 bond and January 15 court date.

Further charges may be forthcoming, Hall said in the statement.

According to state law, a person commits the offense of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor if, knowing the character or content of the material, he possesses material that contains a visual representation of a minor engaging in sexual activity.
