New Beginnings Day Treatment Center is collecting personal hygiene and winter apparel items for local nursing home residents.
To aid in the effort the center is hosting its first Deck the Halls indoor holiday fundraiser and gift market event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 550 Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
The center is seeking monetary donations or items needed to make the gift baskets.
All proceeds collected from donations, vendors, and sponsors are used 100 percent for the cause.
“Our staff and clients are so thankful for the opportunity to host this event as we collect items to make gift baskets to deck the halls of these local nursing homes with immeasurable joy,” the center located in Roanoke Rapids said. “In order to meet our mission and provide these residents a wonderful Christmas gift, we rely on the generosity of community-minded individuals and businesses for support.”
The Saturday fundraiser will have local vendors attending and there will be a $4 hot dog bag lunch.
There will be a bake sale, raffles and a supervised craft/play area for children will be available. For more information call 252-537-7458.
