The Men’s Service Club of Odom Correctional Institution donated various items to three counties —  Halifax, Hertford and Northampton — prior to the offenders transferring out to other facilities due to the temporary closure of the prison.

Items distributed out included 30 coats for the Kids Christmas project to the Northampton County Department of Social Services; 16, 20-inch bicycles to the Hertford County Department of Social Services; and 104, 15-pound turkeys distributed out to the Union Mission in Roanoke Rapids, Garysburg Town Hall, Galatia Baptist Church and various nursing homes in Gaston, Rich Square, Jackson and Ahoskie to feed for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

The Men’s Service Club provides opportunities for offenders to better themselves spiritually, mentally, physically and morally.

The Men’s Service Club also provides offenders with a positive way to help each other as well as the community.
