The Center for Energy Education will kick-off Veterans Day recognitions with a program Thursday at 10 a.m.

The program is called Salute to Our Heroes and will be at the center located at 460 Airport Road outside Roanoke Rapids.

Following the program, there will be a veteran’s benefits discussion at 1:30 p.m. 

Roanoke Rapids

A Veterans Day program will be held at Veterans Park in Roanoke Rapids Sunday at 3 p.m.

There will be special music and other recognitions as veterans are honored.

Bleachers will be available but lawn chairs are welcomed.

Northampton County

The Northampton County Cultural and Wellness Center outside Jackson on Highway 305 will host a Veterans Day program at 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Veterans Day display

At the request of the Halifax County Library, the Halifax Resolves Chapter, North Carolina Sons of the American Revolution, has placed a Veterans Day display in the library foyer.

The display pays tribute to all veterans, past and present. 

Halifax Resolves Chapter member and retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant Ken Wilson was responsible for the display.
