The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Roanoke Rapids man Wednesday night following a traffic stop conducted by Corporal Matt Brown and Deputy Brian Biggerstaff for an equipment violation. 

A search of the vehicle by Brown and Biggerstaff netted the discovery of six individually packaged marijuana bags along with packaging materials. 

Biggerstaff charged the driver, Rae’Kwon Rogers, 19, of Roanoke Rapids with simple possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Rogers received a  $10,000 bond and has a January 15 court date.
