Following the Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade Sunday, children will have an opportunity for a Santa story time at Wise Ole' Owls.

The tutoring business is located at 13 East Eleventh Street beside the police station and behind the Music School of Roanoke Rapids.

The story time will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Roanoke Rapids Police Department will be stopping east and west traffic at 1:30 p.m. to clear the 2 p.m. parade route on Roanoke Avenue.

Those coming from Northampton County on the Gaston bridge should use the Jackson or Washington street extensions, according to Captain Andy Jackson.

He also advises against parking on the avenue until after the parade. “The cars can obstruct people's vision and we don't want people scratching cars by accident.”

No pets are allowed at the parade.
