A victim was stabbed 13 times in the face and side after he confronted three people who appeared to be in the process of stealing his television and other electronics Friday night.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said the victim, who was stabbed with a pocketknife, will be OK. Police recovered the knife.

The victim came home to 702 Oakley Avenue around 10 p.m. and discovered three people described as black males had broken into house and were in the process pulling back the television to disconnect cables.

When he confronted them a scuffle ensued and he was stabbed.

The assailants fled the scene, one wearing a black and yellow shirt. One of the assailants lost his shoe, a white Nike Air Force 1 as he fled.

During a canine track, a laptop computer was found in the area of Emry Park.

Police are investigating a breaking and entering which occurred at 717 Oakley Avenue earlier in the day. A handgun, television, DVD player, ammo and computer were taken.
