A fight following a Halloween party early this morning ended in the stabbing death of a Roanoke Rapids man.
Friends drove Joshua Luke Green, 23, to Halifax Regional Medical Center but he did not survive the injuries sustained in the fight off Mills Street, according to Captain Jay Burch of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to Mills Street around 1 a.m. on a stabbing call. Investigation revealed that a fight occurred in the parking lot of the VFW post in Roanoke Rapids off Thelma Road where a costume party occurred. At Mills Street the parties crossed paths where another fight occurred involving the same people. Green was stabbed twice in the side and cut on his neck.

Tanner
Burch explained to rrspin.com this morning after the first fight Green and friends left on a car. They passed the parties who would end up being charged in the murder, Curtis Wayne Edwards, 43, and Kasey O'Neal Tanner, 23, who were walking.
A beer bottle was thrown at the car Green was in and another fight ensued. Green was stabbed with what Burch described as a folding knife. While it is not clear whether both men allegedly stabbed Green, they both allegedly participated and were charged in his murder. One knife was recovered, Burch said.
Both Edwards and Tanner, of Roanoke Rapids, were jailed without the opportunity for bond and have December 7 court dates.
It is not clear what the argument was about.
