A Whitakers man faces possession of heroin and paraphernalia charges after he was stopped by a Halifax County Sheriff's Office major Tuesday night in Scotland Neck.
Major Mike Casey stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and with assistance from Deputy E.D. Johnson found David Wayne Moore, 31, had four dosage units of heroin on him along with paraphernalia, according to Lieutenant George Evans.
Further investigation revealed he was wanted out of Chesterfield, Virginia, for larceny and simple worthless check in Edgecombe and Hertford counties.
He was jailed on $51,000 bond has a court date of September 28.
