A Roanoke Rapids man was charged Tuesday in a June breaking and entering in the South Zoo Road area.
Detective J. Puhak of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Sergeant R. Keeton took Frankie Lee Harris, 47, into custody following an investigation by the sheriff's office and Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
On June 29, the sheriff's office took a report from a resident that their business had been broken into and a dirt bike was stolen, along with other items valued at around $3,500.
Tuesday the sheriff's office was notified that Roanoke Rapids Police Officer Roy Ball had located stolen property in the 100 block of Jefferson Street.
Keeton responded and took Harris into custody. Puhak and Detective J. Matthews processed him without incident, charging him with obtaining property by false pretense and felony possession of stolen goods.
Harris was jailed on $10,000 bond and has an October 19 court date.
