Weldon police are investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old male victim which occurred Tuesday shortly before 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Corbitt Drive.
Chief Chris Davis said this morning it is not clear from witness statements whether the shooting, which left the victim in stable condition, occurred inside or outside the residence. He said it was too early in the investigation to establish motive.
In a statement Davis said Corporal Q. Godley responded to the residence on a shooting call.
Officers discovered a juvenile victim was shot.
The victim was taken to a local medical facility and later transported to another hospital.
