A 61-year-old Hollister man was arrested Monday after a Halifax County Sheriff's Office deputy saw he allegedly had 4 grams of crack cocaine on him, along with drug paraphernalia.
Detective J. Puhak said Deputy B. Knight was on patrol in the Hollister area around 12:30 a.m. when he stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Highway 561.
During the investigation the deputy discovered Donzill Alston had crack and drug paraphernalia on him.
Knight charged Alston with possession of schedule II and an alcohol violation.
He was jailed on $1,000 bond and has a July 20 court date.
