Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a shooting where the victim walked to Burger King on Roanoke Avenue to report the crime.

The call came in shortly before 5:15 this evening.

Interim police Chief Bobby Martin said the victim was shot in the foot and appears to be OK.

Investigators as of this report believe the shooting occurred elsewhere, possibly in the area of Tenth Street.

Martin said investigation continues.
