Friday night's free benefit concert for local Roanoke Rapids Battalion Chief Fireman Kevin Hawkins who is fighting Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer was the very first concert under new ownership of the Roanoke Rapids Theatre.

North Carolina Native recording artist Kasey Tyndall sang to several hundred people Friday night with Dueling Pianos performing in the lobby prior to the concert.
