Preliminary autopsy findings indicate the death of a man found in a semi-wooded area off Stack Powell Road in the Roanoke Rapids area Monday evening was not the result of homicide.

Sheriff Wes Tripp said in a statement detectives are waiting on the results of a toxicology report in death of 24-year-old Tyler Patrick Warren.

Tripp declined to immediately comment beyond the statement today.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Monday the sheriff’s office responded to an area off Stack Powell Road in Roanoke Rapids after a deceased person was located.
