On July 10 the Roanoke Rapids Police Department received a report from a business on Premier Boulevard about two people who on July 1 around 7 p.m. bought an electronic device with counterfeit currency.
They used counterfeit $50 bills and got less than $50 in change back, according to Lieutenant Morgan Worrell.
Food larceny
On July 10 officers responded to a business in the 100 block of Roanoke Avenue around 10 a.m. about the larceny of grocery items.
When officers arrived, they learned that the suspect left prior to their arrival on an older model Lexus.
The man stole various groceries from the store and then left with the items in a small black hand basket.
