ECU Health North Hospital recently presented nurses Sara Flood and Abbie Evans with the President’s Award Medal for their commitment to patient care. 

The award honored their commitment for a pediatric patient and the patient’s family.

During the presentation Emergency Department Medical Director Trey Sloan and ECU North President Todd Hickey expressed their gratitude to the team for “their exceptional response, caring, and commitment to patient care.”

“Their words highlighted the importance of teamwork and the profound impact of compassionate care on our patients and their families,” ECU North said.

“We are proud to share the inspiring story of Dr. Trey Sloan and his dedicated team, highlighting two remarkable nurses, Sara Flood and Abbie Evans, who recently went above and beyond to ensure a young patient received the necessary and deserved care,” Hickey said. “Dr. Sloan has been a true hero for this child, navigating numerous challenges to provide the best possible care. This ED team’s unwavering commitment and exceptional problem-solving skills were instrumental in overcoming the obstacles faced.”
