The Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation Department and the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau officially unveiled a new scoreboard at Ledgerwood Park during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The installation of the scoreboard was timed to coincide with the start of the Cal Ripken Eastern North Carolina Baseball Tournament, which is now underway. “The upgraded facility enhances the experience for both players and spectators, marking a milestone in ongoing efforts to improve local recreational amenities,” the HCVB said.

Representatives from the Halifax County CVB, Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation, and several tournament volunteers attended the ribbon-cutting.

The tournament will continue through Sunday, bringing teams and visitors from across the region to Halifax County.
