August 9 will mark the 20th year of the annual Crossing at Lake Gaston to benefit the Lake Gaston Foundation.
The Crossing is a mile open-water swim, row, paddle, float, and walk across Lake Gaston starting at the southern end of Eaton Ferry Bridge.
“For twenty years The Crossing has attracted hundreds of participants, volunteers, and spectators to raise funds for local nonprofits and civic groups whose projects benefit the Lake Gaston region in various ways,” said Amanda Briggs, president and CEO of the Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The Crossing at Lake Gaston has put Lake Gaston on the map and continues to gain recognition.”

The Lake Gaston Foundation’s Mission is to apply for grant funding and receive charitable contributions for ongoing projects that will serve the needs of the Lake Gaston regional communities and the Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce by encouraging positive economic development through activities that stimulate community, business, and tourism growth.
The Lake Gaston Foundation, in partnership with the Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce is asking for support for this year’s event. “The Crossing would not be possible without the support from sponsorships, donations, and volunteers.”
