Gary Grant of Tillery was selected as one of the top 20 volunteers in the state and received the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service.

Grant had been selected for medallion consideration by Halifax County.
Attending the service with him in Raleigh were his niece Chrystal Redding, friend Doris Davis, and nephew Gary Redding, who is a Halifax County commissioner.
