A Garysburg man will have a first district court appearance Tuesday after his arrest Friday on cocaine and other drug charges.

Eric Forster was released to appear in court on a magistrate’s order after his arrest by Corporal J. Velez, according to eCourts records. Velez stopped Forster for a motor vehicle violation.

Forster, 38, was stopped by Velez of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office around 12:30 p.m. near Highway 158 and Davie Smith Street.

With the assistance of Corporal M. Wilkins and Lieutenant R. Elder, approximately 7.8 grams of cocaine, approximately 4.4 grams of marijuana and currency was seized.

Forster was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce.
