The Center for Energy Education welcomes newly-elected and current public officials, local leaders, and municipal representatives to its rescheduled workshop to inform them of processes and trends for successfully integrating utility-scale solar into their rural community’s energy mix.
The event will be held Thursday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 460 Airport Road, Roanoke Rapids.
The free workshop is designed to educate and equip participants with essential knowledge about utility-scale solar projects, economic impacts they bring, and strategies for successful integration in rural communities.
The session, which includes a light lunch, will provide a detailed project framework — from land acquisition, siting, permitting, installation, decommissioning and beyond — and its range of economic impacts, including workforce development opportunities.
