The Weldon Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chris Davis:
City council took the first steps to prepare for the holiday season by approving a road closure ordinance for the annual Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade in December.
Continued investigation into a shooting in the 300 block of Franklin Street Thursday has led to the arrest of two people on drug charges.
Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a second shooting which occurred in the 300 block of Franklin Street late Sunday night.
