Halifax Community College will host an Allied Health and Career and Technical Education Open House and invites parents, students and the community to attend.

HCC staff from the program areas, as well as from admissions, will promote allied health and CTE program fall semester offerings on campus Tuesday, July 19, in room 509.

Times are 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The free event includes tours of program facilities and is open to the public.

Given the constant job opportunities for graduates in these programs of study, HCC will host information sessions about classes related to medical laboratory technology, cosmetology, human services technology, automotive systems technology, industrial systems technology and welding.

“This open house gives parents, students and our Roanoke Valley community a chance to gather details about our degree programs, visit department classrooms and labs, see demonstrations and meet instructors,” said HCC Acting President and VP of Administrative Services/CFO David Forester. “Admissions staff will also be on hand during the sessions to provide class registration assistance as well as guidance for financial aid and scholarship options. We welcome our community members of all ages to attend this one-day event to learn about the potential for admission into Allied Health and CTE programs at Halifax Community College.”
