First Citizens Bank donated $20,000 to the Halifax Community College Foundation to add to the financial institution’s scholarship fund.
“As a longstanding advocate for education, workforce development, and community prosperity, First Citizens Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to investing in opportunities that uplift students and build a stronger region,” the college said. “This contribution comes at a meaningful time as HCC works to expand access to high-quality educational opportunities and strengthen resources that empower students to achieve their academic and career goals. The First Citizens Scholarship provides essential financial assistance that enables students to persist in their studies, excel academically, and pursue future career success without the burden of financial obstacles.”
“We sincerely appreciate First Citizens Bank for their generous support,” said Dr. Jennifer Jones, executive director of the Halifax Community College Foundation. “This investment in our students will have a lasting impact on their educational journeys and open doors to life-changing opportunities.”
The check was presented in person by Kenny Deloatch, senior vice president of First Citizens Bank, who expressed “the bank’s continued commitment to partnering with Halifax Community College and supporting local learners.”
