East Carolina University is partnering with the Halifax County Library System to establish a new digital lending program called Digital Bridges which begins October 1.

The program allows people to check out an iPad and Wi-Fi hotspot for free. 

The program is for anyone who needs to use an iPad or hotspot to access the internet to accomplish the following: 

Stay connected with family and friends 

Learn digital skills to help achieve goals 

Find entertainment at your convenience 

Learning sessions will be held to share information with anyone interested in learning how to improve their ability to use the computer for their daily living. 

The sessions will include information on: 

Basic computer skills 

Online safety and privacy

How to search and find trusted information online

How to navigate your healthcare online 

The learning sessions will be held at local libraries, community centers, senior centers, churches, and other places of gathering.
