Halifax County has announced the 2024 Recreation Partners Program grant recipients.
These recipients were selected after submission of an application and project proposal as well as a review by a committee of staff and commissioners. “The committee works diligently to ensure that funds are spread geographically throughout the county,” the county said.
The total funds awarded through the 2024 Recreation Partners Program was $32,000.
The following organizations were awarded funds:
ABC2 — $5,000
Brian M. Simmons Scholarship Foundation — $3,300
C.A.R.E./The John 3:16 Center — $3,000
Hieley Favored Ministries — $5,000
Quankey Missionary Baptist Church — $3,000
Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League — $3,500
St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church — $3,300
Scotland Neck Education & Recreation Foundation — $5,000
Scotland Neck Rising - $900
The 2025 Recreation Partners Program grant process will begin in February with applications due in mid-March.
Grant awards are made by the committee in late March and officially approved by the board of commissioners in April.
