Beginning this summer the Halifax County Library System will continue its award-winning Summer Reading Program and will add two new programs — a Rewards Program and a Passport Program.
The Halifax County Library System Rewards Program began Monday and will be an ongoing program throughout the year.
To participate in the program, a patron must have a valid library card, new or updated, from one of the five Halifax County Library System locations to receive a rewards punch card.
For each paid service the patron receives in any branch, the patron will receive one punch on the rewards card. Once the patron has received 10 punches, the next service up to a $5 value is free.
Once a patron has redeemed a rewards card, the patron can turn in that card to receive a new card and start the process over.
Paid services offered by the Halifax County Library System are as follows:
Faxing
Black and white and color copying
Patron vending machine printing
Circulation computer printing
Oversize copying

Passport program
The Halifax County Library System 2023 Passport Program Have Books Will Travel begins June 5.
Patrons may pick up a passport book from one of the five Halifax County Library System locations and then visit the library branches to collect stamps.
When a patron earns 10 stamps, the patron will receive one entry for prizes.
Passport program drawings will be held June 30, July 31, August 31.
If a patron cannot travel to a library, the patron simply needs to call or email a Halifax County Library location and ask for a book recommendation or information and receive a code to use for a stamp.
The Halifax County Library System is still seeking prizes for the passport program contest.
If you or someone you know would be willing to donate an item for the contest drawings, please contact one of the five branches.
