Halifax County government and Halifax County Cooperative Extension have set the date for the 2025 Harvest Days festival.

Harvest Days will be held at the 4-H Rural Life Center on Friday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., specifically for 4th and 5th grade students in any of the county’s public, charter, private or home schools, and Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(Food and arts and crafts vendors are now being accepted with a reasonable vendor fee. Vendors should sign up early to secure a spot. For a vendor application or other event information, contact Halifax County Cooperative Extension at 252-583-5161)

“Harvest Days will continue to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the founding of our nation, especially as we get ready for Halifax Resolves Days on April 10-12, 2026, and July 4, 2026, as well as many other historic happenings,” said Beth Burchell, Halifax County extension director. “Halifax County is proud to be the site of the first official act taken by any colony to move for independence from England — the Halifax Resolves. It is only fitting that Halifax County’s signature event—Harvest Days— pays homage to the anniversary of the Halifax Resolves, our country’s quest for independence, struggles for freedom throughout our history, and the diverse cultural and historical landscape of our county.”

As always, Halifax County Harvest Days will celebrate the world of agriculture, featuring farm animals, antique tractors, hay wagon rides, the agricultural museum, and educational exhibits, as well as local vendors selling festival food and arts and crafts.

There will be entertainment throughout the day on Saturday, including our headliner band the Sons of Earl.

The 4-H Rural Life Center is located at 13763 Highway 903, Halifax.
