Library Advisory Committee

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
The City of Roanoke Rapids is now accepting applications for the following positions:
Property Maintenance Worker:
An employee in this class performs a variety of building, facility, and equipment maintenance and repair activities including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and masonry. Work involves task at a variety of buildings and surrounding grounds. Work requires significant independent initiative and advanced knowledge of trade practice and skills.
Part-Time Library Assistant:
Employees in this position will perform various duties at the Roanoke Rapids Public Library. Good interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills are a MUST. This employee will work the service desk, checking in and out materials, assisting patrons in using public access computers, shelving returned library material and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be available to work flexible schedule including days, nights and Saturdays. Approximately 10-13 hours total per week. Hours will vary. This position will also provide service assistance at the Roanoke Canal Museum.

NOTICE OF MEETING CANCELLATION
September 6, 2016 City Council Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Roanoke Rapids City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2016 has been cancelled due to the lack of agenda items.
The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 5:15 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall.

ROANOKE RAPIDS PUBLIC LIBRARY CLOSED from August 30 through September 6 for re-carpeting.

MUNICIPAL OFFICES CLOSED/TRASH COLLECTION: Municipal Offices will be closed on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day. Monday’s trash collection route will be picked up on Wednesday, September 7.
