NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
ROANOKE RAPIDS AREA PLANNING BOARD
Notice is hereby given that the Roanoke Rapids Area Planning Board will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall at 700 Jackson Street, Roanoke Rapids regarding the following items:
A rezoning request from Mack Gay Associates, P.A. (applicant and agent for property owner, Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh) to rezone Halifax County Tax Parcel 1205051 (a 10.04± acre property) from R-40 Residential to B-4 Commercial District. The property requested for rezoning is located adjacent to the eastern right-of-way of NC Highway 125 having approximately 482.51 feet of road frontage and adjacent to the north of Dickens Farm Road (private road) having approximately 884.13 feet of road frontage. The property is undeveloped and used for small scale agricultural production. The requested B-4 Commercial District allows the widest range of commercial land uses. As a result of public input, a less intense district may be considered for approval.
A Conditional Use Permit request from MaSuki, Inc. (Applicant and Property Owner) to amend the Villages at Cross Creek Planned Unit Development (PUD) Conditional Use Permit and PUD Zoning Map, initially approved by City Council on March 22, 2005 and revised on August 18, 2015. The Villages at Cross Creek PUD includes a total acreage of approximately 182.95 acres located adjacent to the southern right-of-way of NC Highway 125 between the intersections at Old Farm Road and Smith Church Road. The subject area for consideration is the 104 acre tract (Halifax County Tax Parcel 1205276) located adjacent to the eastern right-of-way of Cross Creek Parkway at NC Highway 125. The requested Permit is a two-part consideration applicable to the subject area:
Rezoning request for low-density R-12 Residential District for property currently zoned R-40 (2005 PUD Map Area 5, 59.20 acres) and B-4 Commercial (2005 PUD Map Area 7, 2.0 acres). The R-12 Residential District is designed to accommodate single-family dwellings at a minimum lot density of 12,000 square feet and minimum lot width of 75 feet.
Request to change the initially approved configuration of the PUD plat map to further subdivide the property at a density regulated by the R-12 District. The preliminary plat map, dated 02-25-2015, differs substantially from the 2005 PUD map. The requested revisions include the development of approximately 200 single-family lots and reconfiguration of undeveloped streets.
With respect to the above PUD requests, the requested R-12 District density and lot dimensions are demonstrated as developed along Winterberry Lane, an R-12 District.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Relating to Property/Liability Insurance Coverage and Workers Compensation Coverage for the City of Roanoke Rapids
The City of Roanoke Rapids is presently accepting proposals for insurance coverage relating to: (1) property/liability insurance coverage and (2) workers compensation insurance coverage for its employees. Qualified bidders should submit proposals for the line or lines of insurance of its choice no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016. All proposals should be SEALED, marked and addressed as follows: City Insurance Proposal, c/o Kathy A. Kearney, P. O. Box 38, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870. NOTICE OF MEETING CANCELLATION

Notice is hereby given that the Roanoke Rapids City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, 2016 has been cancelled due to the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall being an election polling place and the lack of agenda items.
The next regular City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 5:15 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall.
