The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

On Tuesday at approximately 10 a.m., officers assisted probation and parole officers with a search of a residence in the 200 block of Old Farm Road.

During the search officers located narcotics, paraphernalia and a stolen handgun.

Daryl Keith Shearin, 34, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling.  Shearin received a $10,000 bond and June 6 court date.

Tamera Mona Anderson, 20, of Roanoke Rapids, who was listed as an absconder from probation, attempted to run away from the officers, but was taken into custody.

She was arrested for the probation violation and was charged with resisting/obstructing/delaying an officer.

Anderson received an $8,000 bond and May 21 court date.

Investigation of the stolen gun continues and charges will be filed.

Investigators O.L. Wiltise and G.L. Williams assisted Probation Officers B. Pate, B. Jones and M. Eatmon.

On Tuesday at approximately 4 p.m., Investigator J.E. Benthall arrested and charged D’angelo Devonte Rawls, 19, with breaking/entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretense and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Rawls received a $10,000 bond and June 6 court date.

The charges stem from an investigation into a report on May 9 where the victim reported their residence was broken into and electronics were taken.

During the investigation some of the property was recovered by Benthall at a business where the items had been sold.

Benthall also obtained juvenile petitions on a 12-year-old male. Hasty said the juvenile faces breaking and entering charges similar to what Rawls faces.

Investigator C. Babb assisted with the arrest.
