RRPD blotter: January 13-16, 2017

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday January 13, 2017

• Calvin Alexander Richardson, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 11:30 a.m. with possession of stolen goods after he surrendered to Investigator G. Williams.
He received a $2,000 bond and February 15 court date.
The charges stem from an investigation by Williams into a residential break-in and larceny in December.
Zatez Shermal Perry, 17, was arrested and charged last week in the crime.
The investigation is ongoing.

• Buddy Eugene Poythress, 49, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 12:30 p.m. for driving while impaired, failing to wear helmet, driving the wrong way and failing to register vehicle.
Master Officer G. Morris conducted a traffic stop for a violation on West Tenth Street near Faye Street and determined Poythress was impaired.
Officer Ryan Cross assisted.

• Shirley Boone, 48, of Garysburg, was arrested and charged at approximately 11:30 p.m. for larceny by employee and served an outstanding order for arrest.
She received a $750 bond and February 1 court date.
Master Officer A. Salmon received a call from a local business about employees allegedly stealing.
Salmon identified Boone and Denise High, 46, of Roanoke Rapids, as alleged suspects and obtained warrants.
Lieutenant R. Keeton with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office arrested High on an outstanding warrant for conspiracy at her residence without trouble.
High received a $750 bond and a February 1 court date.
Officer C. Fortier assisted.

Saturday January 14, 2017

• Herman Fulton Hooten III, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 12:15 a.m. for driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and served outstanding warrants for larceny, possession of stolen goods and conspiracy.
Hooten received a $1,250 bond and January 20 court date.
Officer A. Green conducted a traffic stop for a violation and determined Hooten was impaired and his license was revoked.
The outstanding warrants were from a matter investigated by Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Detective B. Biggerstaff.
Roanoke Rapids Lieutenant J. Baggett and Officer J. Mason assisted.

Sunday January 15, 2017

• Stephen Anthony Taylor, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 1:30 a.m. for assault on a female.
Taylor was jailed without opportunity for bond and has a January 20 court date.
Fortier responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Franklin Street and noticed the victim had facial injuries.
Taylor was taken into custody for the assault.
Baggett and Salmon assisted.

• Willie Earl Williams, 44, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 12:30 p.m. for larceny, possession of stolen goods and urinating in public.
He received a $500 bond and February 24 court date.
Cross responded to Food Lion on Roanoke Avenue for a larceny and exposure call.
Williams allegedly took items from the store and then urinated in public.
Cross located Williams in an alley behind the 200 block of the avenue.
Morris assisted.

• Tasha Jacobs High, 44, was arrested and charged at approximately 3:30 p.m. for trespassing. She received a $500 bond and February 24 court date.
Cross responded to Food Lion on the avenue about a trespasser and found High, who was banned in the past, on the property.
Officer J. Spragins assisted.

Monday January 16, 2017

• Brittany Alexis Holland, 19, was arrested on an outstanding order for arrest for probation violation.
She received a $2,000 bond and January 23 court date.
Officer O. Wiltsie responded to a disturbance call at Hardee’s on Tenth Street,and found the parties involved.
Investigation determined Holland was an absconder from probation.
Master Officer J. Benthall assisted.

• Belinda Beth Walker, 34, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She was released until her February 3 court date.
Sergeant T. Tyler responded to Walmart about a larceny where it was reported Walker allegedly took items.
