RRPD blotter: December 12-15, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Monday December 12, 2016

• Leon Donald Strickland III, 21, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 1 p.m. for larceny by removing anti-theft device, larceny and possession of stolen goods. He received a $3,000 bond and a December 30 court date.
Officer J. Hardy responded to Walmart for a larceny and loss prevention reported Strickland took items.

• Gregory Raysor, 58, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 5 p.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $500 bond and December 30 court date.
Officer G. Colson responded to Family Dollar on Highway 158 about a person in the store who reportedly stole items.
He was located inside and taken into custody.
Lieutenant P. Parks and Officer H. Grimes assisted.

• Titus Joel Williams, 34, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with breaking/entering/larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $500 bond and February 15 court date.
Master Officer R. Ball responded to the call on the parking lot of Smoke Shop on East Tenth Street.
During the investigation, Ball reviewed surveillance footage to determine Williams went into the vehicle.
Sergeant D. Jenkins assisted.

• Dennis Jerome Roberts, 18, of Weldon, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
• Annastasia Aayonna Roberts, 17, of Weldon, was cited for conspiracy.
• Corde Laron Bishop, 20, of Garysburg, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
• Robert Earl Smith Jr., 21, of Weldon, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
All were cited at approximately 7:30 p.m. and all were released until their February 24 court dates.
Officer Ryan Cross responded to Walmart for a larceny call and loss prevention reported Mr. Roberts, Bishop, and Smith took items. Ms. Roberts reportedly assisted.
Officer J. Spragins assisted.

Tuesday December 13, 2016

• Patrick Hunter Heustess, 24, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He was released until his January 9 court date. He was cited at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Hardy responded to Walmart for a larceny call and loss prevention reported he took items.

Wednesday December 14, 2016

• Jonathan Christopher Cavanaugh, 41, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested on outstanding warrants at approximately 3 p.m. by Colson for obtaining property by false pretense, larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $5,000 bond and December 28 court date.
The charges stem from an investigation by Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Detective R.M. Brown.

• Tom Lee Price, 43, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with assault of on a female. He was held without opportunity for bond until his December 30 court date.
Lieutenant B. Norton, Sergeant T. Tyler and Officer M. Hunsucker responded to a residence on Jackson Street Extension about a domestic.
Officers took Price into custody after their investigation.

Thursday December 15, 2016

• Chestine Annette Hudgins, 49, of Rocky Mount, was arrested for outstanding warrants by Ball for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She received a $1,000 bond and January 6 court date.
The charges stem from September when she reportedly took items from Walmart.
Loss prevention spotted her inside the store and contacted police.

• Joseph Richardson, 50, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $2,000 bond.
• Olga Alexander Zhak, 68, of Roanoke Rapids, faces the same counts.
Both were arrested at approximately 3 p.m. and both have January 6 court dates.
Zhak received a $500 bond.
Ball responded to Walmart for a larceny. Loss prevention reported Richardson and Zhak took items.
Officer S. Blythe assisted.

• Teyon Montrell Jones, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He was released until his January 23 court date.
He was cited at approximately 8:30pm
Hunsucker responded to Walmart for a larceny. Loss prevention reported he took items.
Tyler assisted.
