Longtime board member Mike Salanik was appointed Tuesday night to replace board member Linda Brewer who resigned last month to fill the Halifax County Board of Commissioners seat vacancy left following the death of Commissioner Rachel Hux.
“I would like to thank the board of education for the opportunity to serve once again,” Salanik said. “As a school board member, I look forward to serving and advocating for the educational success for all the children in the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District communit.”
Salanik who served 18 years as a school trustee will be sworn in next week.
