Charles F. Heller of Littleton, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024, with his family by his side.

He was born in Marion, OH on May 10, 1940, to the late Wilbur and Edith (Beall) Heller.

He was a 1958 graduate of Harding High School in Marion.

He proudly served in the US Navy from 1958 – 1964.

On December 18, 1964, he married Patricia Ann Little and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

He worked at Whirlpool Corp. for 39 years, retiring in 2003 as a Fire Marshall.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his two daughters Deborah (James) Prater of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Virginia (Will) Embleton of Moyock, NC; four grandchildren Tara Daniel, Corey Embleton, Brandon Rossi, and Nitasha Embleton and two great grandsons Damien Hill and Lucian Daniel.  He is also survived by two sisters Jan (Jeff) Synder and Pat Bertrand; two nieces, one nephew, two fur babies Zoe and Muggs, and his very special friend Captain Hubert Harned of LaCenter, KY.

Charles was a lifetime member of Marion Elks Lodge #32, having served in various roles including Exalted Ruler.

He was a Marshall at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin for over 25 years and enjoyed rubbing elbows with all the pro golfers.  He enjoyed rooting for the Buckeyes even after moving to North Carolina.

As he enjoyed being on the water, being in his pontoon boat at Indian Lake and on Lake Gaston was one of his favorite things to do.

He also enjoyed fishing and golfing before his health would not allow him to do so.  In the last few years, most of his free time was spent on his computer.

There will be no funeral service and he will be cremated.  The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.  Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service of Roanoke Rapids, NC are handling the arrangements.
