Ernest Henry Hux, Jr., of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024.

He was a native of Halifax County and was an electrician. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Mattie Hux and his maternal grandparents, Garland and Nettie Hall.

Ernest is survived by his parents, Ernest Henry Hux, Sr. and Trevor Hall Hux of Roanoke Rapids; his daughter, Aliyah Hux of Goldsboro; his fiance’, Latonya Martin of Roanoke Rapids; his sister, Amy Vincent and her husband, Keith of Roanoke Rapids; his good friends, David Fowler and Michael Judge; many uncles, aunts, cousins and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Pastor Michael Little officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00-3:30 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a substance use program to provide for those in need of assistance.
