Chase suspect sought for stealing dog

A man awaiting court dates in Halifax County this month on a high-speed chase where he allegedly crashed into his girlfriend's car in February is now wanted for allegedly stealing a dog belonging to the girl's mother.

An alleged suspect has been identified in the December 11 Subway robbery on Premier Boulevard, according to Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty.

With most of North Carolina under a winter weather advisory or winter storm watch , state Public Safety officials are urging residents and visitors to monitor local weather conditions and use caution when driving this evening and tomorrow morning.

Charges filed in a case at the Gaston Boat Landing Friday reflect an attempt was allegedly made to fire a gun, Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith confirmed.
