Weldon schools announce staff changes

Weldon City Schools has announced staff changes for the upcoming school year.

Jackson

The system announced that Patricia Jackson is principal of Weldon Elementary School.

Jackson previously served as interim principal during the last school year and also served as a curriculum specialist and assistant principal at the elementary school.

Twetty

John Twetty will serve as assistant principal at Weldon Elementary School. He brings more than 10 years of school administration experience from Wayne County Schools.

Stewart

Andre’ Stewart accepted the role of principal of Weldon Middle School.

Stewart served as assistant principal of Weldon High School during the 2013- 2014 school year. He was previously the athletic director and social studies teacher at Northwest Halifax High School.

Pittman

Shannetta Pittman will serve as assistant principal at Weldon Middle School.

Pittman previously served as assistant principal for Roanoke Valley Early College and Weldon Elementary School.

Squire

Geneva Squire has accepted the role of chief academic officer for the school system.

Squire will oversee the implementation of the district Rigorous Curriculum Design to provide students with a 21st Century learning environment.

She will lead the schools and curriculum department to ensure the district goals are achieved.
