The arrest of 17-year-old Rahakeem Lashley was the last in the murder of Alvin Pierce Jr., Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said Wednesday evening.

Tripp declined to say what Lashley's alleged role in the shooting was, only that he was reportedly an active participant in the crime. “As far as the arrest, we've made all the arrests we can make at this point. We will still take any information we can.”

Tripp said the sheriff's office and its investigators stand behind previous statements that the 21-year-old Pierce's murder was believed to be prompted over a dispute involving a card game.

In the wake of the May 21 murder, there have been two other crimes reported in which the sheriff's office continues to investigate any possible ties, the sheriff said.

One of them involves a suspicious fire at the residence of Pierce's father, Alvin Sr., which occurred on June 28 at Grant Drive. Tripp said investigation into that fire, which according to firefighters left the house a total loss, continues.

The sheriff's office also continues to investigate a shooting in the Lincoln Heights area where Alvin Pierce Sr.'s son, Divante Jacquan Lee, 22, was arrested on July 22.

The shooting occurred on June 28, Detective Chris Scott said in a statement. Lee was charged with allegedly discharging a firearm into a Lincoln Heights residence occupied by multiple people. No one was injured.

Scott said this morning Lee allegedly fired four or five shots into the house. Lieutenant Roy Rooks arrested Lee, who awaits an August 20 court date.

Scott said whether the shooting is related to his Alvin Pierce Jr.'s murder is undetermined and remains under investigation.

The younger Pierce was found dead in his vehicle after deputies responded to what was initially a car wreck call on Cottonwood Road near the old airport shortly before 10 p.m. on May 21.

While going to the car wreck, deputies were told shots were fired. They found him dead when they arrived at the scene.
