Chaloner baseball 3rd in HA tournament

Chaloner baseball recap from Halifax Academy's Easter Tournament this past weekend.

 

The Chaloner Jackets baseball team played with a lot of heart to try to fight its way out of the losing bracket in the Halifax Academy Easter Tournament. They came at one time being one run away from at least a second place finish, but they cam up just a little bit short on Saturday night finishing in the third place of the tournament.

Chaloner- 2-0-0-0-3 Final 5

Rocky Mount Academy- 1-0-0-2-0 Final 3

 

Chaloner avenged their first lost of the Halifax Easter Tournament by beating Rocky Mount Academy 5 to 3. Peyton Jackson was the leading hitter for the Jackets with 2 hits including a double. Aaron Jackson, Cameron Salmon, Ethan Gaskins, Chase Johnson, and Cameron Medlin each had a hit for the Jackets. Aaron Jackson pitched 3 solid innings for the win giving up one run, but no hits. He also struck out 4 and walked 3 batters. One of the walked runners scored. Cameron Medlin came in the 4th inning  and shut down the RMA offense for the save.

 

Hobgood Academy- 1-0-0-0-0-3 Final 4

Chaloner- 2-0-1-2-1-1 Final 7

Chaloner continued to their winning ways in the Easter Tournament by eliminating Hobgood Academy 7-4. Peyton Jackson and Aaron Jackson were the leading hitters for the Jackets. They each had a double and a single. Cameron Salmon, Carson Neal, and Cameron Medlin each had one hit. Peyton Jackson pitched an excellent complete game and only given up four hits.

 

Faith Christian Academy- 0-0-0-2-4-0-2 Final 8

Chaloner- 0-4-0-0-2-0-0 Final 6

 

Chaloner fought a hard game against Faith Christian, but in the end they were defeated 8 to 6. Cameron Salmon was the leading hitter with 3 hits including a triple. Salmon also pitched a strong 3 innings for Chaloner. Peyton Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Chase Johnson, Jake Van Dam, and AC Tant each had one hit. 

 

Cameron Salmon was selected to the All Tournament Team. Chaloner finished 3rd in the tournament, and now has a record of 12 -2.
