A Saturday evening foot chase led to a man being served 10 outstanding orders for arrest, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Around 6 p.m. Corporal Matt Brown spotted Kehaad Cornelius Hawkins standing in the area of Bowser Street in the Lincoln Heights Community.

Brown, according to a statement from Major Scott Hall, was aware Hawkins, 22, was wanted on several warrants.

Hawkins allegedly ran when Brown tried to approach him, and darted into a Lincoln Street residence, where Brown and Deputy Brian Biggerstaff found him hiding.

The occupants of the house ran out when Hawkins reportedly ran in.

He was served the 10 orders and charged with resist, obstruct and delay and misdemeanor breaking and entering.

He received a $58,000 secured bond and was also given a cash bond of $21,500.

He is scheduled for an April 30 court appearance.
